On December 4, 2025, LI and the Trade Union Lifeline (TUL) initiative held a full-day, cross-sectoral, cross-union educational event in the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia, as part of a series of events in war-affected regions of Ukraine aimed at reaching and supporting as many union members as possible.
Over 50 members of different unions in the Zaporizhzhia region took part, including the Trade Union of Railway and Transport Construction Workers, the State Employees Union, the Agroindustrial Union, the Trade Union of Aircraft Builders, and the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers.
Leonid Stoikov gave opening remarks on behalf of the LI and TUL team. TUL founding members and union activists Ivanna Khrapko, Pavlo Babich, Kateryna Izmailova, and Vladyslav Riznyk held a session on union membership motivation with active participation from the attendees, voicing their concerns, working in cross-union groups, sharing experiences, devising strategies to address grievances, and building cross-sectoral grassroots connections.
Additionally, a dedicated training session on psychological balance and mutual support methods at work was conducted, which is especially crucial in a frontline city. As a first outcome, participants were encouraged to organize collective communication, share their feedback, and discuss the results of applying the skills learned during the training.
