On February 27-28, Trade Union Lifeline (TUL) and Labor Initiatives co-hosted a two-day youth camp in Kyiv for 52 young union leaders from Kyiv and Kyiv region. This event was the first part of a two-event series with continuation planned for later this year.
Since 2021, “Reunion Trade Union” has been held as a youth summer camp focused on strengthening union capacity in Kyiv city and the surrounding region.With the start of the full-scale invasion, this camp has been led by the core group of the Trade Union Lifeline initiative.
Over one and a half days, the agenda featured discussion about challenges faced by working and studying youth in times of war, that included union and local authorities representatives, training sessions on union functions, legal session by Labor initiatives on collective bargaining agreements, CBA workshops as well as career workshop and training session on psychosocial support at a workplace.
The event allowed to engage new activists and widen union and TUL outreach. This endeavor will continue in the second part of the Reunion that will happen later this year and will focus on developing first part’s achievements.
