On March 30, Labor Initiatives supported a specialized training session for union organizers affiliated with the FPU. Led by prominent Ukrainian journalist and rhetoric expert Tetiana Goncharova, the session focused on the critical communication skills needed to grow the union movement.
This training builds on an FPU initiative launched in 2025 in Chisinau to educate organizers under the program “Trade Unions Fighting Inequality and Reconstructing Peace and Democracy in Ukraine.” While earlier sessions featured international perspectives from Norway and Moldova, this latest workshop focused on communication and brought together an expanded group of FPU representatives.
About 30 participants gained hands-on experience in communication strategy and persuasive rhetoric. A highlight of the day was Tetiana’s mentorship on self- presentation and her practical “rhetoric toolkit” for addressing common organizing challenges, including how to effectively answer the fundamental question from the workers: “What are the benefits of joining a union?”
